Elsie's 1st "Real" Haircut

Elsie's hair was starting to get "fuzzy" on the sides.  She really needed a trim :) I was nervous to cut it myself, but I couldn't wait!  The girl that cuts my hair just had a baby, so I decided to do it myself :)  I had her sit in her highchair and eat some cereal.  She had no idea I was even doing it.  She sat perfectly still.  It turned out pretty good :)  I LOVE her tight curly hair!
I will never be able to get enough of this grin!
Fruit Loops :)

I cut her hair on a night Josh was working, so I didn't get any pictures of me actually cutting her hair, just the pictures afterwords :)

I saved all her curls in a ziplock bag :)

Curly hair.  Big blue eyes.  Perfection.
I did't cut off a ton, but it sure looks that way when it is dry and CURLY!!!

She Speaks!

I am amazed at how much Elsie has learned in the last 2 weeks.  She is talking so well!  She has started saying a lot of 3 word phrases.  She makes us laugh all day long.  I don't know if other kids are as funny as she is, or if she is just funny to us, but she is some good, free entertainment!  Her most "famous" 3 word phrase is, "I-don'-wan-it" (ok, so maybe it is a 4 word phrase).  She says all the words connected, like it is one word.  It is so funny.  Or she will say, "I-don'-like-it" usually she will say one of these phrases, then pause for a split second and follow-up with a one word of what ever she doesn't like or want.  It is so funny.  "I-don'-wan'-it. (pause) joos. (juice)"  It is funny.  I wish I could videotape her all day long.  She is so fun right now!!  Don't get me wrong, with learning so much...she learns the good. the bad. and the ugly.  She can throw a good fit.  Which provides for some good entertainment for Josh and I.  Elsie is so smart!  I love how she connects things.  All the time.  I think this all day long, and now as I sit at the computer to type a good story to prove how smart she is...my mind is blank.
Josh and I are so blessed to have Elsie in our lives!  We will be forever grateful to Amanda and her selfless decision!  We love you Amanda and can't wait until we get to see you again!  I am excited for you to see how crazy and fun Elsie is.  Non-stop entertainment.

Happy Birthday Josh...

So, Josh turned 32, 2 weeks ago. I'm slow to blog the festivities. We didn't do much, but still managed to have a good time. My mom, Amber, Kandyce and Kaitlyn came. We hung out, watched the Jazz game (per Josh's request) and of course, enjoyed a delicious Costco cake :)
Josh teaching Elsie to "taste" foods :)

Of course she likes it!

Speaking of being prepared...
Josh gets "jipped" every year on the birthday candle.
The "1" is all I had - leftover from Elsie's birthday last year :)

Elsie LOVES cake...
...ok, so she really just loves the frosting!

And she loves to feed it to others...

Perfection.

Grandma Gay loves frosting too!

We love this girl!

Notice how Josh's birthday post turned into cute pictures of Elsie?  It's the story of our lives.  We love her!!
Josh, thank you for being the best husband and dad any girl could ever ask for!  Elsie and I are the 2 luckiest girls in the entire world!  We love you!!!!
